Babboe recall FAQ

You have received an email from Babboe that your cargo bike is due for an inspection.

What you need to know in advance
  • We advise you not to use your cargo bike before it has been inspected by a specialized inspector. You can only cycle to us for the inspection without a load and after you have checked your bike.
  • We inspect your cargo bike based on the information we have.
  • We check specific points that determine whether your cargo bike is allowed on the road and complies with the regulations. At a later time, we will make adjustments to your cargo bike to improve the safety and lifespan of your cargo bike. We are not currently doing any other repairs and maintenance.

You can schedule an appointment  for an inspection yourself via our ticket system. We will then pick up your ticket and help you further.

The following models are affected by the recall:

CITY, CITY-E,
MINI, MINI-E,
CITY ​​MOUNTAIN (frame number not beginning with AC),
MINI MOUNTAIN (frame number not beginning with AC),
SLIM MOUNTAIN,
TRANSPORTER, TRANSPORTER-E,
PRO BIKE, PRO BIKE-E, PRO BIKE MIDMOTOR (frame number not beginning with AC),
PRO TRIKE, PRO TRIKE-E AND PRO TRIKE XL models.

The following models may be used again after inspection:
CITY ​​MOUNTAIN (frame number starting with AC),
MINI MOUNTAIN (frame number starting with AC),
MAX-E,
CARVE-E, CARVE MOUNTAIN,
CURVE, CURVE-E, CURVE MOUNTAIN,
BIG, BIG-E,
DOG, DOG-E,
GO, GO-E, GO MOUNTAIN,
FLOW-E, FLOW MOUNTAIN.

You can find your frame number on the left side of the bottom bracket and on the seat tube.

For the Netherlands:

On the website controlejeframe.nl you can fill in the frame number to check whether your bike is subject to the recall. You can leave your details there and we will contact you immediately as soon as we have all the information about the recall.

We advise you not to purchase a Babboe cargo bike that is subject to a recall because safety cannot be guaranteed (the Babboe City (E), Mini (E), Mini Mountain, City Mountain (production before 2020), Slim Mountain & Transporter and the Pro Trike (E), Trike-E, Pro Trike XL Motor). If you are interested in another type of second-hand Babboe cargo bike (one of the models that are subject to inspection: Max-E, Carve-E, Carve Mountain Curve (E), Curve Mountain, Big (E), Dog (E), Go (E), Go Mountain, Flow E, Flow Mountain, Pro Bike (E), Pro Bike Midmotor, and City Mountain (production from January 2020)), we advise you to ask the seller for the [document] that every Babboe owner receives after the Babboe cargo bike has been inspected by a specialized Babboe mechanic.
