The Marathon Plus is the only tyre worldwide that can call itself 'unflattened'. This is because of its unique, patented anti-puncture layer - five millimeters thick and manufactured from special and highly elastic rubber. Even thumbtacks can't get this tyre punctured. However, the new Marathon Plus is not just 'unflat'. The tyre now also rolls lighter than ever and thanks to the 'Anti-Aging' sidewalls it also lasts a long time. Also suitable and certified for fast E-bikes.
Rolls lighter Due to the unique anti-puncture layer, the weight of the Marathon Plus is slightly higher. Although the Marathon Plus weighs a little more, the rolling characteristics of this tyre are excellent. The laboratory test objectively confirms what can be experienced subjectively on the bike - the new Marathon Plus rolls significantly lighter than other tyres with a similarly thick anti-puncture layer.
Longer life The original Marathon Plus is now protected against premature aging due to weathering or overload due to low air pressure. We have developed a special 'Anti-Aging' technology. This makes the side walls of the Marathon Plus extremely resistant to unsightly cracks. Save natural resources: The anti-puncture layer of the Marathon Plus is extremely elastic. This is doubly important - for total protection and for dynamic rolling motion. The high elasticity can only be achieved with special rubber, in which a large amount of natural rubber is processed. Natural rubber is a precious raw material. It can only be obtained in a very expensive way through recycling. Despite that, we still choose it. With the new Marathon Plus, the anti-puncture layer consists partly of recycled natural rubber.
Excellent for E-bikes: There is a lot of talk about E-bikes. It is important that they are fitted with extremely stable anti-puncture tires that have a long service life. Of course, the Marathon Plus meets all the requirements for a tyre for E-bikes. This does not only apply to E-bikes with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h. The new Marathon Plus is certified with the European quality mark for e-bikes up to 50 km/h in all common sizes. The following sizes are ECE-R75 certified: 47-406, 47-599, 37-622, 40-622 and 47-622.
